　　finally, at last, in the end

　　這三者都可表示“最后”。其區(qū)別在于:

　　1.in the end的意思是經(jīng)過許多變化、困難和捉摸不定的情況之后,某事才發(fā)生。例如:

　　We made eight different plans for our holiday, but in the end we went to Harbin again .我們定了八種不同的度假方案,但是最后我們又一次去了哈爾濱。

　　2.at last指一個(gè)動(dòng)作從發(fā)生一直延續(xù)到結(jié)束,意思是“終于”。例如:

　　In spite of every obstacle, we arrived at last.沖破種種障礙,我們終于到達(dá)了。

　　Her wish to be a doctor has come true at last.她想做一個(gè)醫(yī)生的愿望終于實(shí)現(xiàn)了。

　　3.finally在列舉事物時(shí)可以用來引出最后一項(xiàng)內(nèi)容,或者是直接放在動(dòng)詞之前, in the end和at last則不能。例如:

　　5.at last也在主觀上有“等了好久才…”的含義,但語氣上比finally強(qiáng)得多,且at last也可以作感嘆語。例如:
