Both Of Us
I'm going to talk about the person who used to say sorry to me. It was one of my flatmate in Australia, whose name is Merri. I can say, Merri is the very friend that I had when I just landed this country
Well, to begin the speech, I think I would like to mention when and how it occurred. Last Christmas, I got 2 film ticket vouchers for free from my teacher as an award after achieving high score in exam. Sort of fancy, you know. And the one to enter my head right straight away that I would invite to joy the time with me was definitely Merri. So the appointment was already set exactly on the Christmas day at two PM. I was so excited that I couldn't wait until 2 so I decided to leave home soon and wandered around the city to shorten the time. As scheduled previously, Merri was supposed to show up at the theature at 1:30, she still didn't. I gave her so many rings, but she didn't pick up the phone. I hit the ceiling, I mean I was so furious.
A day later merri sent me a message in a very humble and sincere way that her mom was collided by a car and she had to take care of her mom at the hospital. Merri also explained that her phone was out of battery because of spending the whole day at the hospital without the phone charger so she couldn't contact me.

I want to talk about the time that my friend Katrina apologized to me. Just about a week ago, Katrina apologized me when I complained that I got stood up(被放鴿子) by her for two times. Last June, when I had a short break from my work, I invited Katrina to go to Korea with me for a short trip. Initially, she was excited to hear the news, and told me she would find some time to go together with me. I was quite excited about us both going, and started to plan the trip straightaway. However, one month before the designated departure time(確定的出發(fā)時間), she told me that she couldn’t go because of her work. Even though I felt upset about the fact that we couldn’t manage to go on the trip, I still let it go. Three months later, when I quit my job of being the full time teacher, becoming the part time teacher, I suddenly had a lot of free time. So I started to plan the trip to America. I told Katrina about my holiday plan, she was all excited to tell me she wanted to go as well. I thought that was even better. To my surprise, three weeks later, she broke (告訴我)the sad news to me again that she couldn’t go to America because her boss wouldn’t grant her any paid holiday. Of course I felt upset with her because she seem change the plans always according to her wish, neglecting my feelings. I thought if she know she couldn’t go for sure, she should inform me as soon as she hear the news, not waiting for me to ask her about the status. Last week, when I told her how I feel, she finally apologized to me.
Finally If I still have time I would like to talk about my feeling after receiving her apology. I felt very guilty for being too aggressive while knowing nothing about her situation. I also had a thought that I wasn't her good friend indeed. I drew a lesson from this incident about judging someone. Anything happen with its own reason. Don't jump to the conclusion or impose st on someone without knowing the cause"

I always think that parents or teachers can set a very good example when they are willing to step out of their ego, and apologize to children. I want to talk about a time when my teacher apologized to me, and how this event has influenced my life.
In my 2nd semester in high school, I chose to attend the Chinese literature course conducted by Mr Yang as my selective lesson of the year. He is a man of letters and knows the subject very well. Other than that he has a very sharp sense of rights and wrongs and never compromises on the issues of sincerity.
After taking the final exam of that semester, all the exam scripts were given to us to inform our parents and check back if there was any discrepancy, and that was when I found that he had mistakenly counted my mark wrongly, resulting in me falling to grade B instead of grade A. Instantly, I informed the fact to Mr Yang that there was a mistake in the marks. Since he was busy with the exam script distribution, he assured me that he will look into the matter later. Later he called me to his office, and apologized to me sincerely. He also said that if I had not noticed the discrepancy, my grade could have gone lower than I deserve.
I was, actually, shocked by Mr Yang’s attitude. I had never met a teacher like him. I could still remember the look on his face with deep regret. That day he became my role model. Now I have become a teacher myself, and I can really felt the difficulties of letting go my ego. I do apologize to students, but can never do it in the way Mr Yang did. He is truly a good teacher and a man of virtue.
