I have a lifelong passion for art since I was a child. Beside official art class in school, I also joined a drawing class in The Children’ House and my teachers were very pleased with my drawings. I also participated in some drawing competitions back then. Until now I still draw in my free time, although not as often as I used to do.
2.Do you think art classes are necessary?

Yes, definitely. Learning arts, especially at a young age, can help stimulate children’s cognitive development and encourage them to think outside the box. Because they’re still little, their ideas are very fresh and lovely, which is worth appreciating.

In my opinion, people love hanging landscape paintings at home. Bringing in the beauty of Mother Nature somehow ease people’s mind after a long day at work. Another style of drawing that most people also like is portrait. It could be portraits of someone important to them or even their lovely pets.

I think the mediation efficiency worth mentioning first. Colors in some ways reflect our thoughts and emotions very well and somehow stimulate our body to defense against our negativity inside. 1 這幅畫的來歷。(生日，朋友，含義，珍貴)————Well, this painting was given by one of my friends when I was about to graduate in university, he was a quite intimate friend to me, thus sending me this painting with some specific meanings based on his understanding of me. Ok, so, I’ll tell you about a painting I saw several years ago when I was living in Ecuador. It’s a painting that I’ll never forget, because it was so different from anything I’d ever seen before. The painting was done by an Ecuadorian painter named Oswaldo Guayasamin, and I guess it’s a modern painting because it was done in the 60s or 70s? I’m not exactly sure. Anyway, my friends and I went to the Guayasamin museum in Ecuador, and we really enjoyed his paintings. He has this very unique style. It’s a little bit abstract but he still conveys a lot of emotion with his art. Many of his paintings have a sad and lonely feeling to them. Anyway, as I walked around the museum, I was particularly struck by a painting called “The Pentagon.” It’s five paintings, actually, and all of them are very evil-looking men. The colours are very dark and grey and you get a frightened feeling when you look at it. I also think that, because of the title, this painting makes you think about the Pentagon in America, and you can imagine these evil guys making plans for war. They look really greedy and corrupt. So, I guess I wouldn’t say that it’s a beautiful work of art, but I like this painting because it’s really striking and it makes me think.

My mother often sang me a lullaby titled "Oh my sweet angel look the Moon has come to play with you…” in my bedtime and I have heard it so many times in my childhood that I can still remember it very vividly. This was a song usually famous in the rural area of our country that mothers often use to soothe the baby and to send them to sleep. It was an 8-10 lines song with great harmony and the way my mother sand it was extraordinary. It still echoes in my head and I miss those days.

We often remember things from childhood especially the stories or songs we hear with great enthusiasm. This song was no exceptions. Maybe, someday when I will become a father/ mother, I will sing thins song to my children as well. This has in fact become a permanent memory and I still love the great and calming piece of music.
