　　suggest是個及物動詞，后面可以跟名詞、代詞、動詞-ing形式或從句作賓語。各種試題中對suggest的考查通常涉及到它的非謂語動詞形式、賓語從句及虛擬語氣等方面。下面對suggest的相關(guān)考點(diǎn)進(jìn)行一下總結(jié)。

　　suggest作“(間接地)表明、建議、使想起”解時，后面可跟名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式作賓語。如：

　　That girl's sun-tanned face suggests excellent health.

　　那個姑娘被太陽曬黑了的臉表明她身體非常健康。

　　Mr. Smith suggested a way out of the difficulty.

　　史密斯先生提出了一個克服困難的辦法。

　　An explanation suddenly suggested itself to me.

　　suggest作“建議”解，而且后面跟that從句作賓語時，賓語從句中的謂語動詞用虛擬語氣，即謂語動詞用“should+動詞原形”(should可省略)。如：

　　在下列含suggest的句式中，如果suggest作“建議’講，其后的從句的謂語動詞也要用虛擬語氣。

　　句式1：It's suggested that…(有人建議……)。如：

　　It's suggested that we(should)put on a short play at the party.

　　有人建議我們在晚會上演一個短劇。

　　It has been suggested that Robert should go to Chicago and try to find a job there.

　　有人建議羅伯特到芝加哥去，設(shè)法在那里找份工作。

　　句式2：What(All that)sb. suggests is that......(某人的建議是……)。如：

　　What I suggest is that we(should)visit a class right away.

　　suggestion作“建議”解，后面跟同位語從句時，以及suggestion用作主語，后面跟表語從句時，從句中的謂語動詞均用虛擬語氣。如：
