雅思口語(yǔ)Describe a success in your life范文1:
Well, the success I’m going to talk about might not sound as impressive as the ones other candidates have told you, but it really means lot to me, and many of friends call it “an inspirational story”.
So here’s my story. I wasn’t always like this. I used to be a lot bigger when I was in junior high school. But it didn’t bother me back then because I was a big foodie and all I cared about was if there’s palatable food on my dinner table. I didn’t know anything about beauty and health until I went to high school. It was like, all of a sudden, everybody started to pay attention to their appearance, and according to the common aesthetic standards, only slim girls are considered to be attractive. And you know how mean some high school students can be, right? When people started to make jokes about me and give me nicknames like “l(fā)ittle big” or “fatty”, I just started to become self-conscious about my weight. For the record, I’m not a shallow person, but those personal remarks could really get to me. And it was not just that, my weight had seriously affected my health. I remember I always felt embarrassed in PE class because I usually couldn’t catch my breath after just a little warming up.
So I told myself, it has to change. I consulted some professionals, and got myself a gym membership card, hired a personal trainer, and started to go on a diet. I kissed goodbye to my favorite chocolate and other high calorie food. It was not easy at first, but I made it at last! After a year’s hard work, I lost more than 30 pounds. And I manage to stay that weight till today.
I feel a lot more confident and healthier right now, so this is the success I’m pretty proud of.
雅思口語(yǔ)Describe a success in your life范文2:
When I was in senior high school, I won a knowledge contest about Chinese ancient literature with my classmates. It was conducted and organized by our Chinese teacher. I was really exciting that I negotiated to the second round, more importantly, I was grouped with my best pal. However, since we made to the second round, we were faced with great pressure coz we are going to compete with all the best students in other major. As science students, we were in bad situation compared to those who majored in liberal art. What's more, the contest was held 2 days after the monthly exam. Therefore we had to make time to prepare. This contest was composed of three parts: the written test, lectures and quick response questions. I was responsible for collecting data and learning by heart while she was to prepare the speech. Every morning, we will have a short discussion about today's plan and the progress we've done so far. In such a flicker of time, the competition day came. The written test was such a cake road that nearly everyone got full marks. By virtue of an exquisitely and carefully prepared speech, my friend gave a marvelous performance. Finally, the most heart-beating part came. It was my turn to act my part. My hands trembled and when I saw a whole hall of students staring at me, I almost got my tongue tight. But when the host started to read the questions, the previous anxiety and timidity was gone and I began to focus on the question, thanks god I finally answered one third of the total questions correctly. Needless to say, we triumphed. With this cheerful and glorious victory, I brought the honor to our class and strengthen my friendship with my best pal.
雅思口語(yǔ)Describe a success in your life范文3:
Well, I'd like to talk about a time when I won the scholarship. My prize is the People's third scholarship. I got it at the first semester of my second year in university, the most important part of the assessment of the scholarship is the grade point, which means score. In order to get the scholarship, the first thing I should do was making sure that my grade point was high enough to reach the standard. So during my first year in the university, apart from the time participating in the community society, I worked my fingers to the bone. Besides that, specified winning term paper, blood donation and other items can also help me get extra points for scholarship. So I joined two societies, which gave me a lot of tasks to do, and I was tired after finishing the tasks. What's worse, the rest of my free time was limited. Our courses were foundation courses basically. They needed you to have a strong mathematical operation ability, which happened to be my weakness. I was hard pressed to hit the books. In addition to working hard for good grades, I also donated blood and participated in activities contributing to the scholarship. Finally, I overcame so many difficulties and won the scholarship since I thought that my one year of hard-working had paid off and I was glad that I conquered my weakness. Besides, the scholarship provided me more choices in the future. For example, scholarships can support getting postgraduate study in some degree. So I thought it was worth to win the scholarship.
