  Mid-Autumn Day 中秋節(jié)     Mid-Autumn Day is a traditional festival in China. Almost everyone likes to eat mooncakes on that day. Most families have a dinner together to celebrate the festival. A saying goes, "The moon in your hometown is almost always the brightest and roundest". Many people who live far away from homes want to go back to have a family reunion. How happy it is to enjoy the moon cakes while watching the full moon with your family members.     

  中秋節(jié)英語(yǔ)介紹     "Zhong Qiu Jie", which is also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is  celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. It is a time for family members and loved ones to congregate and enjoy the full moon - an auspicious symbol of abundance, harmony and luck. Adults will usually indulge in fragrant mooncakes of many varieties with a good cup of piping hot Chinese tea, while the little ones run around with their brightly-lit lanterns.     農(nóng)歷八月十五日是中國(guó)的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日——中秋節(jié)。在這天,每個(gè)家庭都團(tuán)聚在一起,一家人共同觀賞象征豐裕、和諧和幸運(yùn)的圓月。此時(shí),大人們吃著美味的月餅,品著熱騰騰的香茗,而孩子們則在一旁拉著兔子燈盡情玩耍。     "Zhong Qiu Jie" probably began as a harvest festival. The festival was later given a mythological flavour with legends of Chang-E, the beautiful lady in the moon.     中秋節(jié)最早可能是一個(gè)慶祝豐收的節(jié)日。后來,月宮里美麗的仙女嫦娥的神話故事賦予了它神話色彩。     According to Chinese mythology, the earth once had 10 suns circling over it. One day, all 10 suns appeared together, scorching the earth with their heat. The earth was saved when a strong archer, Hou Yi, succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns. Yi stole the elixir of life to save the people from his tyrannical rule, but his wife, Chang-E drank it. Thus started the legend of the lady in the moon to whom young Chinese girls would pray at the Mid-Autumn Festival.     傳說古時(shí)候,天空曾有10個(gè)太陽(yáng)。一天,這10個(gè)太陽(yáng)同時(shí)出現(xiàn),酷熱難擋。弓箭手后翌射下了其中9個(gè)太陽(yáng),拯救了地球上的生靈。他偷了長(zhǎng)生不死藥,卻被妻子嫦娥偷偷喝下。此后,每年中秋月圓之時(shí),少女們都要向月宮仙女嫦娥祈福的傳說便流傳開 來。     In the 14th century, the eating of mooncakes at "Zhong Qiu Jie" was given a new significance. The story goes that when Zhu Yuan Zhang was plotting to overthrow the Yuan Dynasty started by the Mongolians, the rebels hid their messages in the Mid-Autumn mooncakes. Zhong Qiu Jie is hence also a commemoration of the overthrow of the Mongolians by the Han people.     在14世紀(jì),中秋節(jié)吃月餅又被賦予了一層特殊的含義。傳說在朱元璋帶兵起義推翻元朝時(shí),將士們?cè)崖?lián)絡(luò)信藏在月餅里。因此,中秋節(jié)后來也成為漢人推翻蒙古人統(tǒng)治的紀(jì)念日。     During the Yuan Dynasty (A.D.1206-1368) China was ruled by the Mongolian people. Leaders from the preceding Sung Dynasty (A.D.960-1279) were unhappy at submitting to foreign rule, and set how to coordinate the rebellion without it being discovered. The leaders of the rebellion, knowing that the Moon Festival was drawing near, ordered the making of special cakes. Packed into each mooncake was a message with the outline of the attack. On the night of the Moon Festival, the rebels successfully attacked and overthrew the government. What followed was the establishment of the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). Today, moon cakes are eaten to commemorate this event.     在元朝,蒙古人統(tǒng)治中國(guó)。前朝統(tǒng)治者們不甘心政權(quán)落入外族之手,于是密謀策劃聯(lián)合起義。正值中秋將近,起義首領(lǐng)就命令部下制作一種特別的月餅,把起義計(jì)劃藏在每個(gè)月餅里。到中秋那天,起義軍獲取勝利,推翻了元朝,建立明朝。今天,人們吃月餅紀(jì)念此事。

  月餅傳說

  月餅象征團(tuán)圓,是中秋祭月和拜土地公的必備祭品。而中秋節(jié)吃月餅的習(xí)俗,是由元朝末年流傳下來的。元朝末年,漢人打算團(tuán)結(jié)起來反抗蒙古人的統(tǒng)治,卻苦于無從傳遞消息。后來劉伯溫想出一條計(jì)策,到處散布流言,說有冬瘟流行,除非家家戶戶都在中秋節(jié)買月餅來吃,才能避免。人們買了月餅回到家中,發(fā)覺里面藏著紙條,上面寫著:“中秋夜,殺韃子,迎義軍!” 于是眾人紛紛起義反抗統(tǒng)治者,中秋節(jié)吃月餅的習(xí)俗就是這樣留下來的。無錫人中秋早晨一般都吃紅燒玫瑰糖芋頭,據(jù)說也與此有關(guān)。相傳蒙古滅宋之后,民族壓迫深重,漢人時(shí)刻都想反抗。有一年,大家約好中秋之夜一齊動(dòng)手。為了厭勝,人們要吃紅燒芋頭,象征“韃子”人頭落地,這就是現(xiàn)在中秋節(jié)吃糖芋頭的來歷。這個(gè)傳說在潮汕各地則變異為:當(dāng)時(shí)元朝統(tǒng)治者規(guī)定,每戶潮人家都要住一個(gè)蒙古兵,受漢人供養(yǎng),監(jiān)視漢人的行動(dòng),并且只允許三家共用一把菜刀。老百姓恨極了,便趁著中秋節(jié)吃月餅的機(jī)會(huì),把相約舉事的紙條,放在月餅餡子里。潮人取芋頭與“胡頭”諧音,且形似人頭,因此每至中秋,則以芋頭來祭奠祖先,歷代相傳,至今猶存。廣東各地有中秋節(jié)吃芋頭的習(xí)俗,據(jù)說是紀(jì)念元末殺韃子的歷史故事。中秋節(jié)殺韃子后,便以其頭祭月,后來改以芋頭代替。至今廣東人剝芋皮時(shí)仍稱為“剝鬼皮”。
