　　盡管《獨立日》會被影評界時不時拿來當作高票房爛片的批判典型，劇情平凡、高潮廉價、漏洞無數，這固然是缺點，但不能不承認這的確是一部讓人發(fā)狂的影片，觀眾在觀片過程中大可不必承受過多心理負擔，只需要享受宏大的特技場面帶來的震撼就好：巨型外星飛船被炸，陸地上真實的目標被毀，人類驚惶失措的混亂場景。這些都是UFO迷們夢寐以求要看到的。

　　這部影片真正有意義的并不是高成本特技，也不是威爾·史密斯或者杰夫·高布倫平平的演技;這部電影的真正意義在于：外星人和人類終于公開對峙，而不是欲蓋彌彰地傳播恐怖了，這就好比將攻擊目標對準白宮與開始轟炸白宮有著天壤之別一樣：影片《獨立日》選擇了后者。
