The human body has always intrigued me, its diverse mechanisms providing complex antibodies that recognize foreign organisms such as viruses and bacteria. It’s these organisms that are working everyday and every night to maintain and sustain the way of life we so frequently take for granted. Its adaptation to this harsh world is quite extraordinary. With the correct medical influence the body may one day be impenetrable to disease. This belief alone inspires me to take on the challenge of medicine. The body still holds many secrets yet to be discovered, this motivates me to learn about the anatomy and physiology in more detail. Not only this, but the compassion and care needed to help patients makes me strive to complete my journey to medicine. Studying the body’s systems and make up made me realize the fragility of the human body and the huge responsibility a doctor or scientist has. One missed judgment could be fatal. In my AS year I enjoyed Organic chemistry in module 3 the most as it was the most puzzling I had to piece together the answers from complex isomeric compounds to find the correct answers. Biology relates more on the anatomical and physiological side of Biomedicine. I rather enjoyed the circulatory system learning about the mammalian heart and its many fantastic uses.
Chemistry and Biology have given me a large insight into the workings of the human body.To learn the complexity of the body and apply it to a patient successfully and to see the gratitude, I would imagine, is highly satisfying in a job like this. The work I need to put in for this career is great and I shall not forget that the rewards are also very great and not only inspiring but encouraging. The greatest challenge of all lies ahead and I look forward to tackling it. I recently went to work at a Dental Surgery. The whole week was spent shadowing the dentist to observe not only his clinical skills but his people skills, how he talked with patients, the safety measures he took to make absolute safety in the surgery. This enhanced my understanding of the health profession greatly and gave me an insight to future procedures in my health career. The year before, I worked in a laboratory for AstraZeneca, a major pharmaceutical company.
The company focused on certain diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cardio inflammatory infections such as arthritis. My clinical skills were developed greatly as I learnt about a great deal of procedures and tests with agar plates, watching the results of bacteria multiplying. Throughout my time at AstraZeneca I frequently asked questions about a medical career and how the company’s involvement fits into the career. I talked to professors, doctors, PhD academics and team leaders gaining useful facts about medicines and clinical skills. They explained procedures for sterilization and how to prevent cross infections by explaining safety measures. Recently I have applied for a full first aid course with a company called Envico (November). My medical skills will be improved greatly as the course covers the basics on treatment to minor and a few major injuries. In December I will be attending a course at Imperial College, London. The course will provide a vital in sight to a career in health sciences as I will be taking part in lectures giving detailed explanations. In my own time I keep up to date with medical developments, I read the ‘New Scientist’ which I find to be very interesting at times. I am applying to my local hospital for voluntary work for more experience. I will be working one day a week shadowing doctors and watching different procedures that they go through. My subjects related to medicine are chemistry and biology. Both requiring me to maintain and hold a lot of information and apply it to complex questions.I look forward to studying at degree level and I am committed to a career that improves the health of others.

韓國(guó)本科申請(qǐng)方式
1.有T O PIK成績(jī)申請(qǐng)
俗話說(shuō)的好，T O PIK在手心不抖!在申請(qǐng)本科時(shí)也是一樣，本科申請(qǐng)要求學(xué)生達(dá)到T O PIK3-4級(jí)(不同學(xué)校要求不同)以上可以正常申請(qǐng)。以T O PIK成績(jī)申請(qǐng)也是韓國(guó)每所大學(xué)都承認(rèn)的申請(qǐng)方式。另外，T O PIK成績(jī)也是在申請(qǐng)中最重要的語(yǔ)言成績(jī)!
2.無(wú)T O PIK成績(jī)申請(qǐng)
很多小伙伴在申請(qǐng)時(shí)因?yàn)楦鞣N原因還沒(méi)有拿到T O PIK成績(jī)，比如近期因?yàn)橐咔樵蛉∠?9屆T O PIK考試，其實(shí)沒(méi)有T O PIK也是可以正常申請(qǐng)本科的，接下來(lái)給大家介紹幾種沒(méi)有T O PIK申請(qǐng)本科的方式。
(1)持語(yǔ)學(xué)院成績(jī)申請(qǐng)
有一說(shuō)一，本科申請(qǐng)階段語(yǔ)學(xué)院在讀的學(xué)生申請(qǐng)本校是真的占優(yōu)勢(shì)，舉個(gè)例子兩位同學(xué)，T O PIK成績(jī)高中成績(jī)等等其他條件完全一致，有語(yǔ)學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷的同學(xué)肯定會(huì)優(yōu)先錄取。韓國(guó)大部分學(xué)校都是承認(rèn)自己本校語(yǔ)學(xué)院成績(jī)的，比如高麗，延世，漢陽(yáng)，中央等等都是可以用自己本校語(yǔ)學(xué)院成績(jī)進(jìn)行申請(qǐng)的。一般要求學(xué)生語(yǔ)學(xué)院3-4級(jí)結(jié)業(yè)。當(dāng)然還有一部分學(xué)校也承認(rèn)其他學(xué)校的語(yǔ)學(xué)院成績(jī)，比如國(guó)民大學(xué)，崇實(shí)大學(xué)。
(2)校內(nèi)考試
校內(nèi)考試也是申請(qǐng)本科的一種重要申請(qǐng)方式。比如慶熙大學(xué)，當(dāng)學(xué)生無(wú)T O PIK成績(jī)并且語(yǔ)學(xué)院成績(jī)不達(dá)標(biāo)的情況下可以參加學(xué)校組織的校內(nèi)韓國(guó)語(yǔ)考試，考試通過(guò)后即視為達(dá)到語(yǔ)言要求并可以正常申請(qǐng)。尤其是在國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)習(xí)韓語(yǔ)的同學(xué)可以考慮參加校內(nèi)考來(lái)申請(qǐng)學(xué)校。
(3)無(wú)語(yǔ)言成績(jī)申請(qǐng)
首先無(wú)語(yǔ)言成績(jī)申請(qǐng)本科是一種非常冒險(xiǎn)的行為?？梢詿o(wú)語(yǔ)言申請(qǐng)的學(xué)校中比較有代表性的兩所學(xué)校是中央大學(xué)和漢陽(yáng)大學(xué)。這兩所學(xué)校在無(wú)語(yǔ)言成績(jī)的情況下錄取后需要在入學(xué)前補(bǔ)交T O PIK4級(jí)或本校語(yǔ)學(xué)院4級(jí)結(jié)業(yè)才可以正式入學(xué)。那為什么說(shuō)這樣申請(qǐng)比較冒險(xiǎn)呢，也確實(shí)有一部分申請(qǐng)冷門專業(yè)的同學(xué)在無(wú)語(yǔ)言的情況下被錄取了，但如果申請(qǐng)熱門專業(yè)，比如傳媒，經(jīng)營(yíng)還是建議達(dá)到T O PIK要求再進(jìn)行申請(qǐng)。韓國(guó)大學(xué)錄取是采用擇優(yōu)錄取的模式，同期申請(qǐng)者中肯定會(huì)優(yōu)先錄取有語(yǔ)言成績(jī)的學(xué)生，所以這種申請(qǐng)方式請(qǐng)慎重選擇!
韓國(guó)本科申請(qǐng)途徑
語(yǔ)言+本科：
1.招生對(duì)象：適應(yīng)于沒(méi)有韓語(yǔ)成績(jī)/韓語(yǔ)不達(dá)標(biāo)的學(xué)生，且必須具備高中畢業(yè)證。
2.語(yǔ)言要求：申請(qǐng)韓國(guó)大學(xué)的本科，韓語(yǔ)至少要達(dá)到3級(jí)，好一點(diǎn)的院校達(dá)到4級(jí)，才有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力。
沒(méi)有滿足韓語(yǔ)要求的申請(qǐng)者，需要先學(xué)習(xí)韓語(yǔ)。那么在國(guó)內(nèi)或者是去韓國(guó)學(xué)韓語(yǔ)都是可行的，但小編建議大家在國(guó)內(nèi)先學(xué)習(xí)一段時(shí)間，然后再去國(guó)外大學(xué)語(yǔ)學(xué)院繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言，不僅能打好一定的語(yǔ)言基礎(chǔ)，還節(jié)省了費(fèi)用。
注意：韓國(guó)語(yǔ)言學(xué)校在每年的3、6、9、12月都有入學(xué)機(jī)會(huì)，一學(xué)期為兩個(gè)半月，申請(qǐng)者完全可以按照自己的語(yǔ)言水平來(lái)選擇讀幾期韓語(yǔ)課程，考出滿意的成績(jī)，再去到大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)。
語(yǔ)言+插班：
1.招生對(duì)象：同樣適應(yīng)于韓語(yǔ)成績(jī)不好/沒(méi)有一點(diǎn)韓語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)的學(xué)生，但對(duì)申請(qǐng)者的學(xué)歷有所不同，插班生必須具備大專畢業(yè)證書(shū)/本科大三學(xué)生。
2.語(yǔ)言要求：沒(méi)有滿足韓語(yǔ)要求的申請(qǐng)者，需要在語(yǔ)言學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)韓語(yǔ)，具體的學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)間因個(gè)人實(shí)際情況來(lái)定，一般在半年至一年左右，考取韓語(yǔ)三級(jí)證書(shū)后，再申請(qǐng)韓國(guó)大學(xué)的插班生。
注意：申請(qǐng)韓國(guó)大學(xué)的插班生，所選的專業(yè)與之前就讀的專業(yè)不能有太大的差異，且?guī)煼额?，醫(yī)學(xué)類專業(yè)是不允許申請(qǐng)的。
直接申請(qǐng)：
1.招生對(duì)象：適應(yīng)于有韓語(yǔ)成績(jī)的學(xué)生。
2.語(yǔ)言要求：想去韓國(guó)留學(xué)讀本科，申請(qǐng)者一定要具備韓語(yǔ)水平(韓語(yǔ)三級(jí)-五級(jí))，個(gè)別專業(yè)需提交英語(yǔ)成績(jī)(雅思5.5分+/托福80分+)，當(dāng)然你的語(yǔ)言成績(jī)?cè)礁撸暾?qǐng)名校的優(yōu)勢(shì)更大。
