My deep interest in psychology started to develop after I read the books "Owl in Love" and "Woman in the Wall" by Patrice Kindl. Of course, being only twelve years old at the time, I was far from grasping the true depth of the characters and the complex psychological net Kindl had been able to weave. Now, reading them again, it seems to me as though the author had written not only a fictional novel for children, but had actually filtered out character traits that are in most of us, making them stronger and more noticeable, like shyness or the wish of becoming something totally different to flee the hated world. The books had fascinated and encouraged me to look at the people in my surrounding much more closely, to try to figure out their differences and similarities as well as to question why they might behave in that way.
I am a keen writer, both in English and German. To be able to create a character that is unique and amiable, or simply just believable, one has to understand why he or she would act in certain situations. It is easy to write out of your own point of view, but actually understanding the characters you are describing and being able to make their actions plausible takes a long thinking process. You need to consider their family backgrounds, the decisions they made in their lives and the preferences they have developed throughout the years.
That is what I love about psychology; that every person is shaped by different influences. In this context I also find the nature-nurture debate very interesting.
For two years now I have been studying psychology as one of my core topics in high school choosing to take extra classes after school as well. This has given me the opportunity to look into many different areas of the subject and I have developed a particular interest in social and personality psychology.
I have also been studying ethics and philosophy and this has given me an advantage in connecting certain themes with each other and creating opinions that are very diverse and taken from different areas of the three courses. Ethics, for example, has provided me with a deeper understanding of moral themes, while philosophy has challenged some of my beliefs.
In 10th grade (05/06), at the age of fifteen, I had the opportunity to spend six months studying abroad as an exchange student in France, which perfected my French. This independent time I spent in a foreign culture gave me a deeper understanding of my own inner strength and strong will. It was a wonderful and rewarding time in which I was able to learn a lot besides a new language, such as coping alone with completely new situations. This experience widened my knowledge in terms of how strong humans can actually be, and so further deepened my interest in psychology and the true capability of people. Many friends I made there have stayed close and very dear to me.
I have no worries about studying in English as all my elementary schooling was in English and my entire secondary education has been in a bilingual school where half of the lessons, exams and assignments were in English.
I believe I would be a great asset to your university as I am a social, life-loving person, who enjoys not only to study, but has also learnt to take on responsibilities, is passionate about music - expressed in both dancing and singing classes - and has loved to act in various school plays, often taking on the leading parts. I am voted class representative and in this responsible position I speak up for my classmates and organise various events.
I am especially looking forward to studying and living in Britain, having travelled there a number of times, which has given me some insight into the realities of living and the fortune of studying there.

1、永遠(yuǎn)記?。耗愠鰢?guó)是讀書的!
不是買買買，不是搞代購(gòu)，不是學(xué)廚師，不是和有車的朋友每天出去浪發(fā)一堆朋友圈。你可以周末做做自己想吃的菜，和朋友出去看個(gè)電影，在床上賴到中午，看劇看到半夜。但永遠(yuǎn)不要忘了你是上學(xué)，和國(guó)內(nèi)一樣，要有計(jì)劃，要寫作業(yè)，要準(zhǔn)備考試，weekday要有weekday的樣子。要靜得下心來(lái)。
2、掛科=耽誤時(shí)間+浪費(fèi)金錢
如果有人告訴你學(xué)習(xí)不重要或者及格就行，請(qǐng)一定不要相信他!“分分學(xué)生的命根”這種國(guó)內(nèi)成績(jī)觀請(qǐng)一起帶到國(guó)外吧。很多留學(xué)生掛科不是學(xué)不會(huì)，而是不努力。掛科浪費(fèi)的不止是時(shí)間，交重修費(fèi)的時(shí)候更讓人無(wú)比心疼。
3、充分利用學(xué)校一切資源
畢竟花了那么多錢，圖書館里的藏書使勁看，校園同窗、死黨那都是以后進(jìn)入社會(huì)的人脈，還有優(yōu)秀師資也要利用好。
4、珍惜留學(xué)時(shí)光
國(guó)外留學(xué)的時(shí)光是個(gè)向外開拓眼界的好機(jī)會(huì)，同時(shí)也是向內(nèi)更好地認(rèn)識(shí)自己的機(jī)會(huì)。請(qǐng)珍惜在學(xué)生時(shí)代能有一個(gè)這么好的機(jī)會(huì)。
5、不要害怕困難
遇到困難，不要輕易否認(rèn)自己，也不要輕易逃避。不要腦補(bǔ)別人的一帆風(fēng)順，從而陷入自怨自艾的地步。所有你認(rèn)為光鮮亮麗的前輩們其實(shí)都經(jīng)歷過(guò)很多?？梢远嘞蛩麄冋?qǐng)教。
6、不給別人添麻煩，是的修養(yǎng)
不要給身邊的朋友有無(wú)限地期待和依賴，同時(shí)也不要做個(gè)舍己為人的爛好人。沒有人有義務(wù)去幫助你，同時(shí)，你也要保護(hù)好自己。凡事多講原則講規(guī)則，不要傾向于講人情講道德綁架。有感恩之心，行本分之事。
7、財(cái)不外露，做好理財(cái)
出國(guó)在外，不要跟同學(xué)朋友透露自己的“家產(chǎn)”，低調(diào)不炫富。嚴(yán)肅點(diǎn)，這涉及到人身安全問題。難免會(huì)遇到自己或朋友突然缺錢的狀況，記?。航桢X要謹(jǐn)慎，催債別拉不下臉。此外，留學(xué)期間花銷肯定比國(guó)內(nèi)高很多，養(yǎng)成記手賬的好習(xí)慣。
8、保護(hù)好你的牙齒
外國(guó)看牙醫(yī)真心貴!如果你蛀牙，一定要在國(guó)內(nèi)做好了再出國(guó)。同時(shí)各種習(xí)慣的常備藥也帶一些，一是能省不少錢，二是很多常見病比如感冒胃疼，就不用再專門去看病了，國(guó)外看病難不比國(guó)內(nèi)容易啊。
9、尊重當(dāng)?shù)胤芍贫?/p>
尊重新國(guó)家的法律，熟悉當(dāng)?shù)氐牧?xí)俗。在某些地方，禁止在公共場(chǎng)合喝酒，或?qū)燁^扔在地上......不要停留在你的想法上，實(shí)實(shí)在在地了解當(dāng)?shù)亓?xí)俗吧。
10、認(rèn)真對(duì)待每次演講的機(jī)會(huì)
有演講的時(shí)候好好準(zhǔn)備，一定會(huì)有人跟你說(shuō)不用字斟句酌現(xiàn)場(chǎng)發(fā)揮，不要信他們的鬼話，那些都是混子，

11、安全第一，不貪小便宜

12、夜生活真的可以不要那么豐富
少去夜店，不熟的人給的糖果不要吃，給的飲品不要喝。不要隨便泡妞，不要隨便和網(wǎng)友見面，不要找潑辣的女朋友，不要找喜歡賭錢或者去夜店的男朋友!
13、培養(yǎng)一門愛好
做人不怕你愛好廣泛而又不精，但怕你什么都不喜歡只知道一天天過(guò)。比如你喜歡看美劇，你就應(yīng)該對(duì)美劇如數(shù)家珍;你喜歡看書，就應(yīng)該隨口說(shuō)幾本最愛的書。
不論你有多少愛好，也請(qǐng)一定有一個(gè)愛好你可以說(shuō)上三天三夜。為了不成為一個(gè)為了生活而生活的無(wú)趣的人，精神層面也要滿足呢。
14、與家人保持聯(lián)系

1.勿隨身帶大額現(xiàn)金銀行卡
中國(guó)人有隨身攜帶現(xiàn)金的習(xí)慣，而在國(guó)外則主要使用各種卡消費(fèi)。如果出門少帶現(xiàn)金，宿舍中也不多放現(xiàn)金，就能夠有效減少財(cái)產(chǎn)損失。剛抵達(dá)的學(xué)生應(yīng)立即把現(xiàn)金存入銀行賬戶。以前曾有學(xué)生的書包和錢包在學(xué)校、餐館里以及火車上等地方被盜。如果你的錢包里的錢不多，這不算大的損失。通常情況下錢包里放一百元就夠用了。
盡量不攜帶銀行卡或信用卡。因?yàn)橐坏┻z失，通過(guò)用你的銀行卡或信用卡，別人可以輕易得到你的大筆錢款。如果錢包被盜或被威脅提供密碼，需立即通知銀行。
2.學(xué)校宿舍勝過(guò)在外租房
有些同學(xué)在計(jì)劃留學(xué)的時(shí)候，總是喜歡自己租房子而放棄學(xué)校宿舍。實(shí)際上，這樣做的隱患很大：學(xué)生對(duì)學(xué)校所在城市并沒有足夠深入的了解，并不清楚哪些地區(qū)是不安全的或者高犯罪率的地區(qū)，很可能會(huì)單純的因?yàn)橥葪l件下價(jià)位較低，而入住上述地區(qū)。

另外，建議學(xué)生在出國(guó)前能有意識(shí)地學(xué)習(xí)如何與人溝通，提高自己適應(yīng)異國(guó)生活和解決問題的能力。此外，出國(guó)之前，應(yīng)通過(guò)各種渠道了解各種安全知識(shí)，主動(dòng)向校方索閱相關(guān)安全資訊、手冊(cè)和緊急聯(lián)絡(luò)電話號(hào)碼，以防患于未然;而抵達(dá)國(guó)外后，應(yīng)盡早了解該地治安狀況，一旦確定住所之后，要向當(dāng)?shù)鼐用裾?qǐng)教周圍環(huán)境狀況，注意是否設(shè)有安全措施，如大樓警鈴、路邊免費(fèi)求救電話等。
