考研英語單詞筆記

1 aghast(adj)(尤作表語) ~ at sth 驚恐,驚奇
He stood aghast at the terrible sight。他被那可怕的景象嚇呆了。
★ astonished(adj)(通常做表語)感到驚訝,吃驚
She looked astonished when she heard the news。她聽到那消息時(shí)顯得很吃驚。
◎ astonishing(adj)使人驚訝的,驚人的
I find it quite astonishing that none of you like the play。我感到驚訝的是你們誰都不喜歡那個(gè)劇目。 There was an astonishing number of applicants of the job。申請(qǐng)這份工作的人數(shù)多的驚人。 astonish(vt)使某人驚訝,吃驚,震驚

2、cumber(v)阻礙,拖累
