　　Xingjiao Temple, in Chang'an district of Xi'an, Shanxi province, is famous because the bone relics of a renowned Chinese Buddhist monk named Xuanzang were buried there. Part of the Chinese section of the Silk Road, it was told to remove the buildings as part of local government efforts related to the preparation for the Chinese Silk Road's UNESCO World Heritage Site application.

　　Xuanzang, the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) monk became famous for his 17-year overland journey to bring Buddhist scriptures from India to China, which provided the inspiration for the classical novel Journey to the West, written by Wu Cheng'en during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The temple, with a history of 1,300 years, will apply for the World Heritage List with the pagoda, where the remains of Xuanzang are buried.

　　“興教寺”的英文是Xingjiao Temple。關(guān)于寺廟，temple是個(gè)比較籠統(tǒng)的叫法，而中國(guó)寺廟以佛寺為多，所以稱為Buddhist temple，而道觀多稱Taoist temple。但回教(伊斯蘭)的寺廟，即清真寺，宜稱mosque。英語(yǔ)國(guó)家多的是基督教堂，大致可以概括地稱為church，稍細(xì)分下有：Cathedral, Duomo, Abbey, Chapel，此外，蘇格蘭地區(qū)還有的稱作kirk。還有幾個(gè)詞和《西游記》(Journey to the West)人物相關(guān)的：孫悟空 Monkey King(即美猴王的意思)，唐僧 Monk Tang，豬八戒 Piggie，沙和尚 the Sha Monk。小編家里有一套全英本，讀讀也挺有意思的。是否大師兄能救唐僧渡這一劫，讓我們拭目以待。
