　　Todd: Hello, Ann! How are you doing?

　　你好，安!你好嗎?

　　Ann: I'm fine.

　　我很好。

　　Todd: Ann, could you introduce yourself and tell people where you are from?

　　安，你能介紹一下自己來自哪里嗎?

　　Ann: Yeah, my name's Ann Hutchingson and I'm from Montreal, Canada. And right now I'm an English teacher in Tokyo, Japan.

　　好的，我的名字叫做Ann Hutchingson，我來自加拿大蒙特利爾市。我現(xiàn)在在日本東京做一名英語老師。

　　Todd: Mm. OK. What's Montreal like?

　　好的，蒙特利爾市是什么樣子的?

　　Ann: Montreal is a really nice city. It's just very cold in the wintertime. It is..uh, it has four seasons, and the nicest season is the summertime because it's really warm and people play a lot of sports, and there are some parks in Montreal, and you can go swimming and hiking and biking and rollerblading. It's a very interesing city.

　　蒙特利爾市是一個(gè)很好的城市。只是那里冬天很冷。那里一年分為四個(gè)季節(jié)，最棒的季節(jié)是夏天，因?yàn)橄奶旌軠嘏藗儠?huì)出來運(yùn)動(dòng)，蒙特利爾有許多公園，你可以游泳，徒步游玩，騎自行車或滑旱冰。蒙特利爾市一個(gè)有趣的城市。

　　Todd: Wow! Were you born in Montreal?

　　哇!你在蒙特利爾出生嗎?

　　Ann: I was born in Montreal and I can speak two languages. English is my first language but I also studied French in high school.

　　我在蒙特利爾出生，我能說兩種語言。英語是我的第一語言，但我在高中還學(xué)了法語。

　　Todd: So, were you in a submersion program, or all your subjects in French.

　　法語是你的輔修課程嗎，還是主課?

　　Ann: No, I went to an English high school but a lot of people in Montreal are in immersion programs.

　　不，我上的是一所英語教學(xué)高中，但蒙特利爾有很多都是浸入式教育。

　　Todd: OK. Since you learned French, what do you think is the best way to learn language?

　　好的，你學(xué)了法語后，你覺得學(xué)習(xí)英語最好的方法是什么?

　　Ann: I think that you have to like learning another language and if you have a possitive attitude then you can find learning another language fun rather than stressful so I think that I had a few French friends and we would practice and they would be very patient and I liked the fact that I couldcommunicate using another language cause then you have another identity.

　　我想你一定很喜歡學(xué)習(xí)其他語言，如果用積極的態(tài)度去面對(duì)其他語言，就會(huì)覺得其他語言很有趣而不會(huì)覺得壓力大，因此我認(rèn)為我有一些說法語的朋友，我們一起練習(xí)語言，他們很有耐心，我很喜歡能夠用另一種語言交流，感覺有了另外一種身份。

　　Todd: You have your French identity?

　　感覺有了法國人的身份?

　　Ann: I do.

　　是的。

　　Todd: OK. So what's your name in French?

　　好的，那么你的法語名字叫什么?

　　Ann: "Mono e Ann"

　　“Mono e Ann”。

　　Todd: Wow! I need to get myself a French name?

　　我!我也應(yīng)該取個(gè)法語名字?

　　Ann: Todd.

　　Todd: OK. Thanks a lot Ann.

　　好的，謝謝你，安。

　　Ann: You're welcome. Nice speaking with you.

　　Todd: Tim, you want to talk about road trips!

　　蒂姆，你能談?wù)勛择{游嗎?

　　Tim: Yeah, I wanna talk about road trips. Ah, me and my friends, when we were in high school we took a lot of road trips to lots of different places.

　　好的，我想談?wù)勛择{游。我和我的朋友在高中的時(shí)候自駕游去了很多地方。

　　Todd: OK.

　　好的。

　　Tim: We would go down to California, ah, sometimes Mexico. One time when I was living in Wyoming, in one weekend we drove from Wyoming, through Colorado, New Mexico, and Mexico and back in the same weekend.

　　我們?nèi)ミ^加利福尼亞州，有時(shí)會(huì)去墨西哥。在我還住在懷俄明州的時(shí)候，有一次我們?cè)谝粋€(gè)周末內(nèi)開車從懷俄明州，穿過科羅拉多州，新墨西哥州，墨西哥再回到懷俄明州。

　　Todd: Wow! Well, actually for people who are not familiar with the United States how far is that?

　　哇!有些人可能并不了解美國，這條路有多遠(yuǎn)?

　　Tim: It's a long way. I don't know. It took, I don't know, it took probably about 15 hours one way.

　　這是一條很長的旅程。我不知道，大概單程花了15個(gè)小時(shí)。

　　Todd: Wow!

　　哇!

　　Tim: So, thirty hours all together. But it was fun. We drove down to Mexico, had a good night a good meal, a little bit of drinks and drove back the next day.

　　總共30小時(shí)的車程。但很有趣。我們開車到墨西哥，吃了頓好的，喝了點(diǎn)兒酒，睡了個(gè)好覺，第二天又開回來了。

　　Todd: So you went to Tijuana?

　　你們?nèi)チ颂崛A納(墨西哥西北部城市)?

　　Tim: No, we went to, ah, Ciudad Warez.

　　不，我們?nèi)サ氖荂iudad Warez。

　　Todd: OK. Nice.

　　好的，很棒。

　　Tim: That was really fun and a lot of other trips we took, ah, when I lived in Oregon, when we'd go down to California, and we'd surf.

　　那次真的很好玩，除此之外，我們的其他行程也很有趣，我住在俄勒岡州的時(shí)候，我們自駕游去了加利福尼亞州，而且沖了浪。

　　Todd: Oh, really!

　　哦，真的!

　　Tim: Yeah!

　　Todd: Oh, you're a surfer?

　　Tim: A little bit, a little bit of surfer.

　　一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)，我會(huì)一點(diǎn)沖浪。

　　Todd: OK, What, what kind of car do you drive? What do you use for this road trip?

　　好的，你開的什么車?你們自駕游開的是什么車?

　　Tim: Well, typical American, uh a four-wheel drive vehicle, big vehicle...lots of gas but a lot of fun.

　　典型的美國貨，四輪驅(qū)動(dòng)汽車，大型車，耗油量大，但是很好的車。

　　Todd: Oh man, you're from Oregon, you're supposed to be a tree-hugger!

　　老兄，你來自俄勒岡州，你本應(yīng)該是個(gè)環(huán)境保護(hù)主義者!

　　Tim: I know. I know. But there're good. One rule we had on our road trips was any, any lake or big body of water we had to stop and swim in. It was a good thing to do.

　　我知道。但那車真的很好。自駕游有一條規(guī)則就是，遇到湖泊或是積水很深的地方我們一定會(huì)停車，在水里游一會(huì)兒。這么做感覺很棒。

　　Todd: Well, you live in Japan now. Do you ever do road trips in Japan?

　　你現(xiàn)在生活在日本。你在日本自駕游過嗎?

　　Tim: I took a road trip from Niigata up around Hokkaido and back, so it was a long road trip actually.

　　我曾駕車從新瀉(日本本州島中北岸港市)出發(fā)，到達(dá)北海道折返，那實(shí)際上也是一次長途自駕游。

　　Todd: OK. Wow! What's the difference between a road trip in Japan and a road trip in America?

　　好的。哇!在日本自駕游和在美國自駕游的區(qū)別是什么?

　　Tim: Well, a road trip in Japan..it's a little bit more dificult to get around, it's a little bit more expensive, ah, in America road triping is sort of, something a lot of people do.

　　在日本自駕游行動(dòng)有些不自如，我還需要更多的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。在美國自駕游就很常見，因?yàn)楹芏嗳硕歼@么做。

　　Todd: Yeah!

　　好的!

　　Tim: And in Japan, when we do that it is a little bit strange, a little bit different, not not very normal.

　　另外，在日本自駕游有一點(diǎn)奇怪，有一點(diǎn)不同，自駕游在日本還不是很常見。

　　Todd: Yeah, that's true. OK. Great, thanks a lot Tim.
