大學(xué)英語(yǔ)范文評(píng)析:An Unforgettable Incident
Some people live in the world for body while others for dignity.
I once took a walk along the street on a Saturday dusk, with a Pepsi can in my hand. An old woman in ragged clothes staggered towards me, with a sack on the back another poor woman living on collecting used cans, jars and tins! Walking nearer she looked up at me and then fixed her eyes on my can.At that time, I hadn't finished my cola, so I gave her several coins instead.
I was wrong.
She stared at me for a few seconds and handed back the money. Quite confused I asked:"Why not? Isn't that what you want?"
"I am not a beggar," she said seriously, word by word.
Instantly, I felt so sorry. I had intended to help her, regarded her as a beggar instead of an ordinary man. Thus I hurt her. What I could do at that moment was only to drink up the cola and handed her the emptied can. This time, she gave me a smile with some gratification and gratitude in her eyes. The woman is poor in material life but is so respectable as a man. I am not only moved but also have learned a good lesson.

My First Day of Teaching
It was a Sunday morning. I got up early and rushed out for bus at half past six. Obviously, it was not a usual day-actually,it was my first day as a teacher.
"It won't be a hard job." I thought after Mr. Lu phoned the week before, informing my being employed as an English teacher of a spare time school in which he was the director. I didn't find any difficulty in my new job:the texts were very simple and the students I was going to teach were only primary school pupils, which expelled my worry about making mistakes before them. However, I was afraid that I did not at all look like a teacher and as a result, the students, wouldn't listen to me.
I almost spent an hour and a half on the way to school. As soon as I arrived, I rushed to Mr. Lugs office. There, with some other new comers, I listened to Mr. Lugs explanation of working rules, teachers' duties and the curriculum. Everything was all right as I had wished until I came to the door of my class room. The bell had already rung, but the class was racketing as a rock contest. "How can I manage such a group of naughty children?" I hesitated and then stepped in.
It was a small class with altogether 20 students. Some boys were chasing each other madly in delirious glee while some girls were chatting loudly in an exceptionally sharp voice. Strange enough, as they noticed me, they all returned to their seats and stopped talking. The only reason I could think out for this was that I looked like a teacher, at least in their eyes, which was a great relief to me. After a brief self-introduction, I went on to give my first lesson in English as I had prepared. To my disappointment, all my little students put on a confusing face, their eyes full of puzzle. Someone murmured, "I don't understand."And all the others echoed with nodding. They were mostly in grade 5. I must have overestimated them. I switched to Chinese at once.
in control was a great challenge.
The first day of my teaching was not perfect but satisfying enough. Since then I had got to know how a teacher should perform and all the situations that a teacher would run into. Though my teaching has been much improved so far, the first day of the job still remains deep in my mind.

本文層次清晰,從一開(kāi)始對(duì)教書(shū)工作不以為然“It won't be a hard job”,到初次接觸學(xué)生時(shí)感到緊張“How can l manage such naughty children?”,到遇到問(wèn)題不知所措“I went out to the corridor trying to escape only to get trapped in a more intolerable surrounding”,到冷靜思考解決問(wèn)題。

Special Memories
The university opening ceremony the deeply impressing feelings are as much a part of me now as they were a year ago.
As the day to register and become a freshman in FDU approached, excitement increased. Being a university student meant I was finally coming of age. Soon I would be on my own, making my own decisions and doing what I wanted without someone looking over my shoulder.
Despite months of anticipation, nothing could have prepared me for the impact of the actual day. Among thousands of new comers sitting on the broad lawn in front of the famous XiangHui Auditorium, listening to the speeches by the principal and student representatives, I felt myself consumed by a rush of both joy and nervousness. What would college be like? Would the other students like me? And what about the work would I be able to keep up? Being a student in high school seemed to offer little assurance of my being able to survive college, especially in FDU which is abundant of excellent counterparts. Panic set in.It had been nice being respected as a senior by the underclass students for the past year;I didn't quite enjoy the idea of being on the bottom rung of the ladder again. I was not assured whether I wanted to grow up after all.
As if in a daze, I rose up with my new classmates around to show respect to the school song which was to be performed. As the solemn music flowed, I knew that I was hearing not just a song but the foot step of a brand new life. Exciting as the prospeet of a new life seemed, it wasn't quite easy saying goodbye to the old one the familiar faces, the familiar routine. I would eyen miss those days when fully engaged in preparing for the college entrance exams though they were so tiring and the long commute between home and school that took me several hours each week. Good or bad, it was that I knew.
This September, I was one of the volunteers to welcome the new comers and guide them around the campus. I found the familiar mixed feelings shown on their faces. I needn't have worried about if I would like FDU, since my year here has turned out to be one of the best years of my life. Although going back to those days is impossible, it's comforting to know I can revisit my special memories any time.
