　　Nails in the Fence籬笆上的釘子

　　There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

　　The first day he had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into fence.

　　Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

　　The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said," You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same.When you say thing in anger, they have a scar just like these holes.You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say 'I am sorry ', the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as physical one."

　　這時(shí),父親領(lǐng)著他來(lái)到了籬笆邊,對(duì)他說(shuō),"孩子,你做得很好.可是你看看籬笆上的釘子洞,這面籬笆再也不能恢復(fù)到從前的樣子了.當(dāng)你生氣出口傷人時(shí),就會(huì)留下像這些洞一樣的傷口.你在別人身上插了一刀再拔出來(lái),即使你說(shuō)多少遍 ' 對(duì)不起' 都不重要了,傷口依然存在.因?yàn)檠哉Z(yǔ)的傷害和身體的傷害是一樣疼痛的.

What are you doing?"The young man paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean.""I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?""The sun is up, and the tide is going out. And if I don't throw them in they'll die.""But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach, and

　　listened politely, then bent down, picked another starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves and said,"It made a difference for that one."There is something very special in each and every one of us. We must each find our starfish. And if we throw our stars wisely and well, the world will be blessed.
