  Think about the last time you felt a negative emotion—like stress, anger, or frustration. Whatwas going through your mind as you were going through that negativity? Was your mindcluttered with thoughts? Or was it paralyzed, unable to think?

You are actually taking away the power of the emotionby giving it the space and attention it needs. When you immerse yourself in the emotion, andrealize that it is only emotion, it loses its control. You can clear your head and proceed withyour task.

  Each human being is born as something new, something that never existed before. Each is born with the capacity to win at life. Neither doth this weakness appear to others only, and not to the party loved; but to theloved most of all, except the love be reciproque. For it is a true rule, that love is ever rewarded,either with the reciproque, or with an inward and secret contempt.

As for the other losses, the poet’s relation doth well figure them: that hethat preferred Helena, quitted the gifts of Juno and Pallas. For whosoever esteemeth too muchof amorous affection, quitteth both riches and wisdom.
