With the advent of the global environmental protection campaign, “low-carbon” has become an increasingly popular expression, a catch phrase, among the environmentally-conscious people. White-collar workers pride themselves on going to offices on bicycles, on foot, or even on roller skates instead of being “the men behind the wheel”. Housewives save water after washing vegetables or clothes for flushing the toilet. Everybody seems to be an environmental activist nowadays.
隨著全球性環(huán)保運(yùn)動(dòng)的出現(xiàn)，“低碳”一詞在那些有著環(huán)保意識(shí)的人們中間，已成為一個(gè)日趨流行的語(yǔ)匯，或曰“口頭禪”。白領(lǐng)員工們對(duì)于騎車(chē)上班、步行上班、甚至滑著輪滑上班倍感驕傲，而不必再做那所謂的“呆坐在駕駛舵后面的有車(chē)一族”。家庭主婦們也樂(lè)此不疲地在洗衣或洗菜之后，將水保存起來(lái)，用以沖廁。當(dāng)下，每個(gè)人似乎都成為了環(huán)保積極分子。
By “low-carbon lifestyle”, we refer to a pattern of life involving minimum emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), the most important greenhouse gas produced by human activities, primarily through the combustion of fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide is detrimental to human, animal and plant life because it is the primary contributor to global warming that threatens to raise the sea level, leading to the extinction of animals and plants, and ultimately to that of human beings. There is only one Mother Earth for human beings and, literally speaking, preserving the Earth means preserving humanity itself.
所謂“低碳生活方式”， 是指一種僅涉及最低限度二氧化碳排放的生活模式。二氧化碳是人類(lèi)活動(dòng) (主要經(jīng)由化石燃料的燃燒)所產(chǎn)生的最主要的溫室氣體。二氧化碳之所以對(duì)人類(lèi)、動(dòng)物和植物的生命有害，因?yàn)樗侨蚺闹饕剖郑{著致使海平面上升，導(dǎo)致動(dòng)植物滅絕，并最終導(dǎo)致人類(lèi)本身的滅絕。對(duì)于人類(lèi)而言，只有一個(gè)地球母親，因此，就事論事地講，保護(hù)地球亦即意味著保護(hù)人類(lèi)自身。
The pursuit of a low-carbon lifestyle seems to be a vogue to many people but, in essence, it is a long-term necessity. As college students, there are many ways we can become involved in low-carbon endeavors. We can conserve water, recycle our textbooks, and turn off lights on leaving our classrooms. We can resort to public transportations like buses and subways instead of taxis or private cars. Most importantly, we should reduce the use of computers by rejecting meaningless computer games. Even as students, we have a whole range of channels to pursue a low-carbon lifestyle that is beneficial to ourselves and to humanity as a whole.
追求低碳的生活方式，對(duì)許多人而言似乎是種時(shí)尚，但本質(zhì)而言，它卻是一項(xiàng)長(zhǎng)期的必然。作為大學(xué)生，我們有多種多樣的方式來(lái)投身于低碳事業(yè)。我們可以節(jié)約用水，循環(huán)利用教科書(shū)，離開(kāi)教室時(shí)隨手關(guān)燈。我們?cè)诔鲂袝r(shí)可利用公交車(chē)或地鐵等公共交通，而放棄出租車(chē)或私家車(chē)。最重要的是，我們可以通過(guò)摒棄那些無(wú)聊的電子游戲而減少對(duì)電腦的使用。即使作為學(xué)生，我們有一系列廣泛的渠道，來(lái)追求低碳的生活方式，既有益于我們自己，亦有益于全人類(lèi)。

As teenagers, we should always keep safety in mind. But how can we keep safe? Here are some of my suggestions. First，we should be careful when we make friends. It’s dangerous to make friends online. Second, if we are in trouble, we should learn to call the police or others for help in time so that we can keep ourselves safe. Also，we need to eat healthily and safely. What’s more, eating healthy food is very important to our health. Finally, summer is coming, and remember not to swim in the river.
In short, safety must come first!

My best subject
English is one of my best subjects and I started learning English when I was ten years old. But at the very beginning, listening seemed a little difficult for me. So I have been doing a lot of listening practice, such as listening to tapes, watching English TV programs. And I found it really helped a lot. In fact, there are some more helpful ways to learn English well. For example, I enjoy singing English songs and I want to join an English club or find a pen pal from English-speaking countries. I believe that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it.
