Which is more important in life， knowledge from the books you read， or personal experience you gain in reality? The answer may vary from person to person. The young， educated may emphasize the former， and the old may stress the later. But in my opinion， they are of the same importance.
在生活中更重要的是，從你讀到的書(shū)中，或是你在現(xiàn)實(shí)中獲得的個(gè)人經(jīng)驗(yàn)，答案可能因人而異。年輕的，受過(guò)教育的人可能會(huì)強(qiáng)調(diào)前者，而老年人可能會(huì)強(qiáng)調(diào)后者。但在我看來(lái)，他們同樣重要。
Experience is priceless. How to become an efficient secretary? How to prepare for your first child to come into the world? There is so much experience we need in careers， in life and even in academic studies. It helps one deal with the problems with ease and confidence. Especially activities and to accumulate experience of different kinds is more crucial.
經(jīng)驗(yàn)是無(wú)價(jià)的。如何成為一名高效的秘書(shū)?如何為你的第一個(gè)孩子做準(zhǔn)備，在事業(yè)上、生活上、甚至在學(xué)術(shù)上都需要我們的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。它有助于一個(gè)處理的問(wèn)題，緩解和信心。特別是活動(dòng)和積累經(jīng)驗(yàn)的不同種類更為關(guān)鍵。
Experience， however， is limited in terms of time and space. For one thing， it is impossible for anyone to experience all the important events and meet all the famous people. For another， as the speed with which skills are obsolete and new problems crop up is unprecedented because of the fast development of society， experience is far less adequate. Depending too much on it only leads to narrow-mindedness and prejudice.
然而，經(jīng)驗(yàn)是有限的時(shí)間和空間的限制。一方面是不可能的，任何人都要經(jīng)歷所有的重要事件，并滿足所有的名人。另一方面，由于社會(huì)的快速發(fā)展，技能是過(guò)時(shí)的和新的問(wèn)題，是前所未有的，經(jīng)驗(yàn)是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不足夠的。過(guò)分依賴只能導(dǎo)致狹隘偏見(jiàn)。
One way to compensate for it is to read books. Books of various kinds can bring us almost unlimited additional experience. From books you can not only trace back to the wisdom of our antecedents， but keep up with the latest developments of science and technology. To be sure， it's secondhand experience. But it is the ideal supplement to our own limited experience. Few of us can travel around the world， or live long beyond one hundred years， but all of us can live many lives by reading books.

Both book knowledge and personal experience are essential. While experience makes one more resourceful， book knowledge makes one more learned.
無(wú)論是書(shū)本知識(shí)和個(gè)人經(jīng)驗(yàn)都是必不可少的。而經(jīng)驗(yàn)使人更聰明，書(shū)本知識(shí)使人更博學(xué)。

My Guardsman
On my birthday my grandpa gave me a dog as a present. I was very glad to have it as my friend. After school I often play with him. When my classmates and I play football, he always follows me. One night I was having a good sleep, when suddenly I heard my dog yapping. I opened my eyes. A black figure ran away through the window. It was a thief that tried to come into my bedroom to get something predious. Unluckily, he was discovered by my dog. From then on I love my dog better. He is not only my friend but also my guard.

Being A Brave Petrel
In about sixty days, we will have the high school entrance examination. It’s very important to us. We’re busy with our lessons every day. To tell you the truth, I sometimes feel I can hardly breathe because of the busy school work.
Whenever I can’t work out the problems for a long time, I will get angry with myself. Whenever I don’t do well in the exams, I can’t help crying. But I will never give up. I know it’s my duty to work hard. I believe everything will be all right if I can live through all this. Our teacher often tells us that the sunlight always comes after the rain and wind. I think she is right.
Though our school life is busy, it is very colourful and I will face the exam with a smile. I will be a brave petrel to meet the exam and take my dream to fly higher and higher.
