美國(guó)20句日常最實(shí)用俚語(yǔ)解析

　　1. kick ass 了不起

　　A: Wow, you fixed my computer in less than 10 minutes. You'regood。

　　A: 哇! 你不到十分鐘就把我的計(jì)算機(jī)修好了呀! 你很棒!

　　B: Yep. I just kick ass。

　　B: 是的! 我就是厲害!

　　"kick ass" 除了字面上的“踢屁股”外， 還有“厲害、打敗”的意思。當(dāng)“踢屁股”時(shí)， 比如某人放你鴿子， 你很氣，就可以說(shuō)： "I'm going to kick his ass." (我得踢他的屁股)。當(dāng)“厲害”用時(shí)，就像上面例句一樣用。"kick ass" 還可作“打敗某人的意思”。比如某人一向在某方面比你強(qiáng)， 終于有一天你比他厲害了，你就可以說(shuō)："Hahaha...I kicked your ass."。覺(jué)得 "ass" 太難聽的人， 就用 "butt"吧!

　　10. crank up 把聲量調(diào)大

　　A: Hey! The volume is too low. Why don't you crank it upsome?

　　A: 嘿! 這聲量太小了。你把它調(diào)大一點(diǎn)好嗎?

　　B: No problem。

　　B: 沒(méi)問(wèn)題。

　　這里的“聲量調(diào)大”也可以說(shuō) "turn it up"。意思是一樣的。

　　cranky 則是形容人暴躁、易生氣。如： "Why are you so cranky today? Somethinghappened?" 你今天怎么這么容易生氣? 發(fā)生什么事了嗎?

　　趙晴注： 和cranky同義的詞是grumpy. I am being grumpy because I didn'tsleep well last night。

　　11. Shoot! 說(shuō)吧!

　　A: I've got a question for you。

　　A: 我想請(qǐng)問(wèn)你一個(gè)問(wèn)題。

　　B: Shoot!

　　B: 說(shuō)吧!

　　"Shoot!" 除了當(dāng)“說(shuō)吧!”外， 很多女孩子也用它來(lái)代替 "Shit!", 因?yàn)橛X(jué)得后者聽起來(lái)不雅。

　　12. Give it a shot! 試試看!

　　A: It would be so cool if I can win this contest. I don'tthink I'm good enough, though。

　　A: 要是我可以贏了這項(xiàng)比賽的話會(huì)有多好。但我不認(rèn)為自己夠好。

　　B: Give it a shot! You'll never know。

　　"cool" 是“很棒”的意思。 "You'll never know." 是“你不知道(會(huì)怎么樣”的意思。

　　13. Got you! (騙、嚇.。.)到你了吧!

　　A: Got you!

　　A: 上當(dāng)了吧!

　　"Get you"是“(騙、嚇、捉弄.。.)到你了吧!”的意思。油畫班上有一個(gè)同學(xué)有一次想捉弄我。趁我正要把畫具收到柜子里時(shí)忽然把柜子的門關(guān)起來(lái)，想趁機(jī)把我的手夾住。 結(jié)果我閃得快， 使他的惡計(jì)失敗。我便哈哈的對(duì)他說(shuō)："Haha.. You didn't getme."。

　　趙晴注： got you 要放在語(yǔ)境里面看意思. 這個(gè)說(shuō)法本身還有"明白了" 的意思。

　　--Got you!

　　而i don't get it 通常是我弄不明白的意思. 還有就是別人說(shuō)了一個(gè)笑話， 你沒(méi)聽懂的時(shí)候， 你可以說(shuō)， whatis so funny? i don't get it。

　　14. no-brainer 不必花腦筋的事物

　　A: How do you use this program? It looks quitecomplicated。

　　A: 你怎么樣用這個(gè)軟件呢? 看起來(lái)蠻復(fù)雜的。

　　B: No. Looks can be deceiving. This thing is actually ano-brainer. Let me show you。

　　B: 不會(huì)! 外表有時(shí)是會(huì)騙人的。這個(gè)東西其實(shí)很容易(不必花腦筋的)。我玩給你看!

　　"Looks can be deceiving." 是“外表有時(shí)是會(huì)騙人的”的意思。也許你的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)對(duì)方把自己抬高，表現(xiàn)出很厲害的樣子， 你的朋友就可以說(shuō)"Looks can be deceiving. He may be just a papertiger."來(lái)安慰你。

　　15. work one's butt off 很努力地(做一件事)

　　A: I can't believe all my work is gone just like this. I'veworked my butt off on this all day。

　　A: 我不敢相信我的心血就這樣丟掉了!我今天整天辛辛苦苦都在搞這個(gè)!

　　B: What happened? Computer crashed?
